Canadian Pioneers & Patriots

This guide contains nineteen lessons, alternating between History, focusing on pioneers, and an overview of Canada’s geography.  The core history book is My First History of Canada, while the geography lessons follow the text Canada, Its Land and People.  Each history lesson is built around two chapters of My First History… while one chapter of Canada’s Land… is the core of each geography lesson.  The supplementary books in the package focus on the War of 1812 and pioneers, but can be read as enrichment throughout the course of study.  Once again, the emphasis is on the instructor’s flexibility in planning.  Many hands-on projects and activities are suggested.  For those who want and need a detailed set of instructions and questions, they are there; for those who prefer a freer approach, they are encouraged to take it. For Grades 4-7.
