Growing Together Through Art in an Inclusive Community Garden

This spring, our school library blossomed with creativity thanks to a stunning new collage created by Ms. Ruggles and Flex Foundations students. During library classes, students were tasked to colour and write about themselves using garden imagery like flowers and insects, symbolizing different qualities and perspectives. Inspired by Just Ask! Be Different, Be Brave, Be You by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and award-winning illustrator Rafael López, this collaborative art project celebrates our uniqueness as individuals and how our differences make us stronger and more beautiful as a community.
